The Kalamazoo Free Methodist Church was launched in the city Kalamazoo over 125 years ago. Although located in the Westnedge Hill neighborhood, our church family is spread throughout much of Southwest Michigan; from the village of Covert in the West to the twin cities of Plainwell/Otsego to the north and Schoolcraft/Vicksburg to the South and Comstock/Parchment in the east. We are a church blessed with wonderful people indeed! When you come and visit us you will also discover that KFM is worth the drive!

Over the past couple of years, our church has worked hard to place in writing our dream of who we want to be and what we want to do for God together. We share these core statements with you because they are Core to our church.

Core Vision = HBC + 3C's (Who We Are)

Our dream is to build a Healthy Biblical Community (HBC) as we engage in three key activities (3C's) together. Celebrate is the worship component of congregational life. Connect is the relational component and Contribute is the stewardship component. HBC and the 3C’s is core to our congregational identity. Our Core Vision is to express healthy biblical community as we Celebrate, Connect and Contribute.

Inside Out Values (How We Operate)

Most organizations have “core values” but at KFM we refer to them as our Inside Out Values. Sometimes there is a difference between listing values compared to living values. So, we work hard to ensure that our stated values are the values we operate by as a congregation. We know that God is able to internalize “core values” into the culture of our church so that we live those values from the inside out. Our Core Values are: prayerful, missional, visionary, relational, discipling, team-driven and accountable.

A Mission that Matters (What We Do)

As we summarize the mission of God in our world today, we believe that through the redemptive works of Christ that our relationship with God and with one another is ultimately restored. Therefore, our mission is to Connect People to Christ and to one another!
