The student ministries team has been hard at work gearing
up for a new year of ministry with students. We are more focused
on our goals and we are anticipating great things from God.
We are looking forward to some great service projects and
events to help us seek, grow and become more like Jesus!
We really want to see our youth wrestle with their beliefs
on a weekly basis this year so they will own their beliefs
for themselves. You can read more about this in the Student
Ministries Goal: Deep
and Wide Spiritual Growth document. We are looking to
equip the youth and the whole team in the area of Evangelism.
We also want to provide experiences for our youth that will
help them grow spiritually by leaps and bounds. These events
include a conference, a winter retreat, and a mission’s
trip. We will plan other events too such as concerts and social
events.
Events always cost money and we want to make sure that money
is not a barrier for any teen. We have already started candy
sales. Candy sales provide the largest return of any fundraiser
that I have found. Everyone loves candy and it is consumable
so you automatically have repeat customers! Start your candy
sales right away since there are several events that will
have a substantial cost. Check out our events
for more information. We will also have a few other types
of fun raisers as we go through the year.
Of course we will be meeting every Sunday night from 5:00
– 7:00pm. Check out our calendar
for more details. There will be time for fellowship and fun,
but our main focus will be on wrestling with our theology
helping our teens know what they believe in and how to defend
it. We will also have a strong focus on Evangelism. We are
not in the entertaining business but the equipping business.
With the Lord’s help, we want our youth to be passionate
followers of Christ.
Most of all, we ask you to pray for this ministry. Pray for
the leaders, the youth, and all of our parents. We want to
be a unified force for God!
